Sponsorship opportunity

Hello potential supporter!

Are you interested in supporting non-traditional, underserved, and artists with disabilities?

Our hope is yes!

Outsiders and Others Art Society serves and works with artists who self-identify as outsider, self-taught, folk, visionary, intuitive, and living with disabilities. Every month we present a new exhibition in our main gallery at 716 East Hastings Street and once every second month in our window gallery at #100-938 Howe Street. We present both solo and group exhibitions. For many artists we show, this is the first time they are exhibiting their artwork in public or in a gallery setting.

We are a volunteer-run organization with the goal to create professional creative opportunities for artists in a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment. These opportunities include curated exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, and one-on-one consulting. All our workshops and one-on-one consultations are free for for artists who identify as living with a disability or mental health issues. Everything is at no cost to the artists.

Additional ways we support artists is by framing artwork for exhibitions when a financial barrier exists for the the artist, as well as paying them an exhibition honourarium and 75% of all art sales.

As an emerging organization that opened in June 2020 we are struggling to survive. Not only will your sponsorship help us pay rent, insurance, and all the admin costs involved but your sponsorship will enable us to grow and serve more artists, along with a public who is hungry for affordable non-traditional art. Sponsors play a very important role in Outsiders and Others exhibitions, events, publicity, and programming. When you partner with Outsiders and Others, you are partnering with your community.

"Working with Outsiders and Others has impacted my artistic development in many ways. They already helped me achieve more than I thought possible. I’ve exhibited, sold, and earned more from my art this year than ever before. I live on a disability income, so the extra earnings have significantly improved my quality of life."
